CSHRD Human Rights Awards – 2025 Edition
The Coalition of Somali Human Rights Defenders (CSHRD) is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the CSHRD Human Rights Awards – 2025.
These awards recognize and honour exceptional individuals, groups, and organizations who have demonstrated outstanding commitment, courage, and impact in the promotion and protection of human rights in Somalia and the Horn of Africa.
🏆 Award Focus
The CSHRD Human Rights Awards celebrate:
Human Rights Defenders working in challenging and high-risk environments
Grassroots activists and community leaders
Women Human Rights Defenders, youth activists, journalists, and civil society actors
Organizations advancing accountability, justice, equality, and human dignity
📝 Nomination Details
Who can nominate: Individuals, civil society organizations, networks, and institutions
Self-nominations: Accepted
Nomination deadline: 25 December 2025
27 December: Announcement of Winners
Award winners will be officially announced in December 27, 2025, following a thorough and independent review process.
